2008 is Gonna Be Great

I have butterflies in my stomach just thinking about it. This year is going to be full of so many exciting plans and adventures that it is almost overwhelming to look forward to so much. I have already pretty much allocated every one of my 19 vacation days spread throughout the year. Well, the first trip is one in which I am not included. The "Dudes in Tahoe" ski trip in the beginning of February is an annual tradition with Monte's buddies from Missouri. This year my brother, Jon Sifer, and another friend from Florida will join them. Monte is so excited that he has been wearing his snowboarding coat and goggles around the house for about 2 weeks--despite the balmy weather. It's actually great that they go to a freezing place to play in the snow for a week, so that I am not the slightest bit jealous. If they went somewhere like Vegas or Key West (i.e. warm and fun) I think I might try to negotiate a "girls included" aspect of the trip.

At the end of February, however, I will get to experience my first taste of a ski vacation. Monte earned a promotional trip from a work to Park City, Utah to the fabulous Deer Valley Resort for 4 days. I can't wait! It will be refreshing to get into the cold mountain air and to see snow for the first time in years. I think I will actually enjoy skiing in the powdery fluff because it will be totally different than my only time trying--which was on a man-made hill covered with ice in Paoli, Indiana. Also, I bought the cutest boots with fur (I sing the song every time I see them in my closet) and an adorable coat and I am excited to bundle up and stroll down main street to shop and look for celebrities. Who knew I would ever look forward to wearing layers of sweaters, scarves, coats and boots? It's been so warm here this winter that I need just a small dose of another season, so I think 4 days will be enough. The weather, the scenery, the activities, the food--everything will create a totally different vacation than I have ever experienced, so I am really looking forward to it.

Also coming up this Spring...Indianapolis trip, Ericka's Wedding, and a Mediterranean Cruise!! I couldn't be more excited!
