Showered With Love
This weekend in Indiana was just glorious! The "Sweet Pea" baby shower was the most beautiful (and fun) party ever. From the custom invitations to the amazing food to the truckload of gifts from loved-ones, I was truly spoiled! Oh, did I mention the cake?...I think this cake will be heard about all over the Midwest. It was too cute, and actually tasted delicious! I should know, I think I had at least 5 pieces over the course of 2 days. It was a quick trip but didn't feel rushed at all, and I was able to see so many friends and family at once. I left with such an overwhelming feeling of gratitude and love, that it didn't bother me one bit that my flight was delayed 3 hours and I got home at 1:30 in the morning on Sunday. And, normally, meeting my boss at 8am Monday morning to do a grueling ride-along (in which he critiques my every move) would send me into a frenzy of stress and possibly tears...but not this time. I was surprisingly calm and collected, I think it was because I was filled with so much happiness from the weekend. Oh, and Molly is home from vacation at Mimi's (grandma's) house, so how could I get upset when I have her little kisses and cuddles?!
Well, today marks the end of my 27th week of pregnancy, which means I am officially in my third trimester! I can't decide if time is flying by or not, because when I think back to seeing the "little pink line" in January it seems like ages ago. All I know is I honestly have loved every minute of being pregnant. I have been so lucky that I have felt great the entire time and have not had many complications at all. The fluid in the baby's chest was a nightmare, but has turned out to be a blessing because we have had so many tests and procedures that we know he is as healthy as can be. We had our 6th ultrasound yesterday, and it was just as amazing as the first. He is now 2 pounds 7 ounces and was putting on quite a show. He was playing with his feet, kicking the ultrasound probe, and the best part was he gave us a smile!! A smile, people! I didn't catch it the first time, so the technician backed up the image recording and showed me again. My heart melted. It was adorable. We are planning to do a 3D ultrasound in the next week or so because Monte missed the last two, and he wants to see his little boy. We will definitely share the images and videos when we get them!
