Labor Day?

So obviously the hurricane didn't make it to Tampa last week, and neither did Baby Farrar. Of course this is a good thing, but I am really hoping he comes soon. Maybe Labor Day really could be labor day?! I am doing my part to make it happen. I'm eating pounds of pineapples, drinking raspberry tea, doing step aerobics, and will be making eggplant parmesan this weekend. These are just a few of the tips/wives tales that I have heard can help induce labor. I'm actually not as miserable and huge as I envisioned myself being at 37 weeks, but I am getting a little more uncomfortable. Sleeping is becoming a challenge because of the multiple bathroom breaks I take throughout the night and the piles of pillows needed to get anywhere near comfortable. Molly and Monte are slowly getting pushed to the far corners of the bed.

I had an ultrasound earlier this week and they estimated the baby's weight at 7 pounds! Um...that's pretty darn big for 3 weeks to go. They usually pack on at least a 1/2 pound a week from this point on. So, I had my weekly OB appointment today and the doctor basically told me to "do what I can to have this baby earlier than later." She said they don't want me to wait all the way to my due date because the risks for emergency c-section will go up as he gets bigger and the size of my pelvis becomes no match for the gigantic baby. She scheduled a labor induction on the morning of September 12, so I am going to do everything in my power to go into natural labor before then...preferably leaving September 11th out of the picture. So I am on a mission to make this a literal Labor Day weekend!

3 Shout outs:

  • That is exciting that are you getting a better idea of when Baby Farrar is arriving! Good luck - I hope you can naturally induce labor very soon!

  • Tell Baby Farrar to wait until Gustav is far away... I don't want to get caught in the storm!!
    I'm SO excited!!
